Former striker Nicola Ventola analysed the upcoming Coppa Italia final between Fiorentina and Inter, highlighting what could make the difference on both sides and giving his prediction.

The Coppa Italia final kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 20.00 UK time this evening.

Fiorentina reached the final after beating Sampdoria in the Round of 16, Torino in the quarter-finals and Cremonese in the semi-finals. They’ve not lifted the trophy since the 2000-01 season.

Defending champions Inter booked their spot in the Coppa Italia final after beating Parma in the Round of 16, Atalanta in the quarter-finals and Juventus in the semi-finals.

Speaking to SportItalia via TMW, Ventola weighed in on the Coppa Italia final and touched on the strengths of both Fiorentina and Inter.

“I like Italiano a lot, he has his own game plans and won’t speculate on Inter’s greatness. It will certainly be an attacking match, balanced. The Viola take risks, they know how to attack. Inter have struggled many times against them.

“In my opinion, the match will be won in midfield, Inter’s is important because everyone knows how to score, they know how to fit in. It will be this which is the key to strength for the Nerazzurri. Inter have never missed one-off matches, my prediction is a 2-1 win for Inter.”

Both Inter and Fiorentina have reached their respective European cup finals, with the former facing Manchester City in the Champions League final on June 10 and the latter taking on West Ham in the Europa Conference League final on June 7.
