Lazio defender Denis Vavro confirms he will leave the capital in January: ‘It’s not the place for me.’

The 25-year-old has never played either in Serie A or Europa League under Maurizio Sarri this season and his time at the Stadio Olimpico is virtually over.

“I definitely want to leave Rome in January,” he told Sport.sk.

“This is not a place for me, I can’t stay where I can only train without ever being able to play.

“I’m physically ready because I usually train with the team, but I’m not feeling well psychologically.

“After all, the last time I played a 90-minute game was in June with Slovakia.

“The club decided I had to stay for another six months for financial reasons and because of economic rules that apply to foreigners in Italy. Had I left, the club would have had to pay a certain amount of taxes for me.”

  1. Sarri is the worst about not using his full squad. At Napoli he froze out players. And worked the others to death. And could have won more trophys if he rested some players, and trusted others. I wasn’t a fan of Spalletti, not after his time in Roma. But with all the injuries he has dealt with he is using his subs and winning.
