The Serie A season continues this evening and Fiorentina, currently one point off leaders Inter, will be in action tomorrow against Palermo.

The Spaniard likened his side to a ‘budget car’ racing against ‘luxury vehicles’ but says that the Viola players ‘have the right to dream’.

“It’ll be difficult to be crowned winter champions,” Valero told Corriere dello Sport.

“We have two very hard matches and Inter are flying. But we mustn’t be afraid, the imperative is always to go out and win.

“Juventus are the strongest team. Inter, Roma and Napoli are part of the group of the most reliable teams and shouldn’t be underestimated.

“We’re a budget car racing against luxury vehicles, but with one particular characteristic: we always have a full tank of petrol. Like the fans, we have the right to dream too.

“Winning here in Florence isn’t easy, leaving after having won something important would be the perfect ending.

“The idea of winning the Scudetto here gets the adrenaline pumping, it gives unique emotions. Ever since I arrived I’ve had a unique relationship with the city and for this reason I decided to stay until 2019.”
