The Zebrette look to build on their first win of 2023 but these Udinese vs. Verona predictions suggest that could be a tough task. The Gialloblu have also made a resurgence in the new year and could be on track to pull off a great escape in the second half of the season.

Udinese vs. Verona odds

1 – Verona to win – 4/1

2 – Darko Lazovic to score anytime – 9/1

3 – Under 2.5 goals score – 19/20

4 – Only one team to score – 11/10

5 – A draw at full time – 7/12

Verona travel south to face Udinese on Monday night hoping to continue their remarkable run under new manager Marco Zafferoni. For the Zebrette, this fixture also offers an opportunity to make a resurgence, having won their first game in 11 Serie A matches last weekend.

Since taking over at the Marcantonio Bentegodi in the new year, Zafferoni has won more points in just four games than Verona had managed previously all season. The Gialloblu’s only defeat of 2023 has come at the hands of an in-form Inter side.

In doing so Verona have catapulted from just five points to 12 and now sit five points from 17th place. With confidence very much back amongst the Gialloblu, the bookmakers are offering generous odds on the visitors to take all three points at the Dacia Arena.

With neither side looking particularly prolific in front of goal, a safer bet would be on a low-scoring match on Monday. Verona have bagged fewer than one goal per game this season and, even in their improved form, are averaging just 1.25 per 90 minutes. The Zebrette have admittedly performed better overall with 1.4 per game but have scored just three in four matches since the restart.

With both teams struggling up front, a wager on under 2.5 goals is likely to provide a return, while a bet on Verona’s top scorer Darko Lazovic to score anytime would definitely be worth the risk given the high odds.

Past encounters between the two sides support the narrative of a low-scoring fixture, as both teams have scored in just two of the last six meetings. A punt on just one team to score should therefore provide a return at the Dacia Arena.

Verona have yet to take a single point from a team in the top seven. But they have taken points from Udinese in all of their last three seasons. With the Gialloblu in solid form, we believe a draw may well be the most likely outcome on Monday evening.

Verona (3-4-2-1): Montipo; Dawidowicz, Hien, Ceccherini; Depaoli, Tameze, Ilic, Doig; Lasagna, Lazovic; Djuric

Udinese team news

Gerard Deulofeu appears to have suffered a knee injury having managed just 13 minutes in the win over Sampdoria. Andrea Sottil will likely start with a front two of Norberto Beto and Isaac Success, while Adam Masina will also miss out in defence.

Verona team news

No changes are expected from Marco Zaffaroni following Verona’s win over Lecce. Thomas Henry should be fit to return up front but is unlikely to displace Milan Djuric, while Simone Verdi and Marco Faraoni remain sidelined with injuries.
