Udinese Coach Luigi Del Neri says his side now take more risks and play with more freedom than when he was first appointed.

The former Juventus boss replaced Beppe Iachini at the helm last month and has presided over an immediate improvement in results, steering the Bianconeri up into midtable.

“I need to put the players in a position to perform as well as they can,” Del Neri said at the Press conference to preview Sunday’s match with Genoa.

“This group has always had important qualities, now they also have confidence and they take more risks.

“We are not getting carried away but we are on the right track.”

The Friuli boss then revealed he anticipates a difficult trip to face the Rossoblu.

“Genoa have great intensity and a stadium that calls you to double your efforts. I expect a hard fought match.

“I expect improvements and progress in terms of tactics, as well as our character. In Serie A all the teams have their strengths, every game is hard fought to get the three points.”
