Eusebio Di Francesco believes luck has deserted Sassuolo recently as they prepare to face Atalanta.

The Neroverdi squad has been decimated by injuries of late, with a run of just one win in eight competitive matches a sign of the effect it has had.

“We want to get back to winning ways even though we are facing the most in form team at the moment,” Di Francesco told reporters when asked to comment on Sunday’s meeting with La Dea.

“They are coming into it on the back of a series of important results. Atalanta have interesting young players, we were interested in some of them.

“We need to show our best. I am disappointed by how the Europa League match [2-2 against Rapid Vienna] went, I am not angry.

“Lately everything has gone against us. Gasperini was under threat after four matches, now he is at the top of the League.

“He is a great Coach with his ideas on football.”
