The city of Turin will name a Piazza after the 39 victims of the Heysel Stadium disaster ahead of Juventus-Liverpool in 1985.
Before kick-off in the European Cup Final in Brussels, a wall collapsed due to pressure from Liverpool supporters, crushing 39 fans – 32 of them Italian – and injuring over 600.
Today the Mayor of Turin ratified the decision to name the Piazzetta Vittime dello Stadio Heysel (Victims of Heysel Stadium Square).
It is an area that runs between Dora Agrigento and Strada del Fortino.
