Former Udinese Coach Igor Tudor has emerged as the favourite to replace Ivan Juric as Genoa’s third tactician in five weeks.

According to news agency Ansa, ex-Croatia international and Juventus defender Tudor could be appointed on Monday.

It’s another twist in the bizarre tale at Marassi, because Juric was only appointed on October 9 to replace sacked Davide Ballardini.

He managed two draws and two defeats, but it seems the 2-1 home loss to Napoli was the final straw.

Davide Nicola had been considered the main candidate, but it’s now claimed President Enrico Preziosi is in negotiations with Tudor.

The 40-year-old Croatian had a very brief spell at Udinese last season, taking over at the end of April and overseeing two wins, a draw and a 4-0 defeat to Inter.

He parted company with the club by mutual consent.

His previous coaching roles were at Hajduk Split, PAOK, Karabukspor and Galatasaray.

As for Juric, it’ll be his third dismissal in the last two years at Genoa.

He was first appointed in July 2016, sacked in February 2017, brought back in April and dismissed again in November.

Juric, also Croatian, returned to Marassi on October 9 when Ballardini – the man who replaced him in November 2017 – was fired.
