“Pogba is in the Semi-Finals, unlike the English,” Trezeguet shrugged in an interview with La Stampa.
“After that, anyone can say what they want.
“What do I say? That he’s unique in his role in the world. I think Pogba is growing, and he showed that in the last game when he did very well, but he was also good against Switzerland and Ireland.
“He’s a young player, but he’s determined and with a very clear objective: to win the European Championship.”
The former Bianconeri striker was asked for his opinion on Italy, having spent the best part of his career in Serie A.
“It was a very united group, that was also shown by the way they reacted to defeat to Germany. The CT [Antonio Conte] brought belief to a team who, at first, no-one was sure where they’d get.
“The BBC defence? They have experience and mutual knowledge of each other, so you see far less mistakes. After all, it’s the foundation of Juve, and they’ve also got Buffon, who gives strength and great confidence to everyone else.
“How did I feel seeing Gigi Buffon in tears? There was so much sorrow, because if he doesn’t change his mind this will be Gigi’s last European Championships.”
France face Germany tomorrow, can Les Bleus lift the trophy on home soil?
“It’s an early final,” Trezeguet explained.
“It’s a game we’ve been waiting for for some time. It’s complicated because they’re world champions and they have the same goal as us: to win the European Championships.
“Whenever France has had the chance to host these events we’ve done very well. The Euros in 1984 and the World Cup in 1998, we won.
“A prediction? 2-0 to France. We can do it.”
