Totti is in attendance as a representative of the Lega Serie A and sponsors, spotted chatting with Milan director Paolo Maldini before kick-off.

“I think all former players would love to play in such an important match, as a final is always an exciting occasion,” Totti told Sport Mediaset.

“Being a derby as well, that is a game you must approach with a calm head and determination, more desire to win. When you get the result you want, nothing beats it.”

Having spent his entire club playing career at hometown club Roma, Totti was asked which of the two Milanese giants he would rather play for in the Supercoppa this evening.

“I’d lean towards Milan, as this is the club that wanted me the most during my career.”

Totti had revealed that he would never have played for a club other than Roma within Italy, but at one stage he had been close to signing for Real Madrid.
