Roma captain Francesco Totti has remained cautious amid talk of his side winning the Scudetto after Saturday's 1-0 victory away to League leaders Milan.

The Giallorossi are fifth in the standings as the winter break begins in Serie A, though it must be said that they are still seven points adrift of top spot.

Speaking after scoring the winner at San Siro, Marco Borriello said there is no reason why Roma shouldn't be considered title challengers.

Adriano supported that opinion, but his captain is perhaps mindful of past disappointments.

"I would prefer not to talk about the Scudetto," he said. "It's still too soon and it brings bad luck.

"We have always fought right until the end for the Scudetto in recent years only to be left disappointed.

"Sure, it's great to have won at Milan's home ground – that of the League leaders – but even if the wheel seems to have turned in our favour, there is still a long way to go."
