Francesco Totti and Jose Mourinho bumped into each other in the stands of Stadio Tre Fontane during a Roma youth game.

In recent days, the Giallorossi legend admitted that he’s in close contact with the Portuguese coach, who wants to bring the former forward back to the club in a backroom role. Totti told the press last week that “perhaps, in one year’s time, I could be back”.

Roma struggled to find their footing in the early weeks of the season but bounced back after the international break, flying to a thrilling 7-0 win over Empoli.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Totti was in the stands of the Stadio Tre Fontane to watch his son Cristian play for Frosinone Primavera in their clash with Roma, where Mourinho was also present in his polo shirt and baseball cap.

The two didn’t talk face to face but the former forward clapped the coach alongside the fans present. A return is now looking increasingly likely for Totti, who played in 783 matches.

Speaking in a press conference on Sunday, Mourinho noted his admiration of Totti, saying: “Totti is Roma, he has never left and never will. But it’s not for me to ask anyone.”
