Tottenham Hotspur had the worst possible build-up to their Champions League showdown with Milan, losing 1-0 to Wolves after their FA Cup elimination to Sheffield United.

Antonio Conte was still not on the bench, as his doctors ordered him to take more recovery time after emergency surgery to remove his gallbladder last month.

The Italian tactician has not been on the touchline since the 1-0 defeat to Milan on February 14, when he acknowledged that he had rushed his return and was suffering the effects.

Assistant manager Cristian Stellini assures Conte will be there for the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 in London on Wednesday March 3.

Tottenham suffered their second consecutive 1-0 defeat this afternoon, as following the same result in the FA Cup away to Sheffield United, they fell in the Premier League away to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

In all competition, it represents their fourth consecutive away defeat, in which they scored one goal and conceded seven.

However, the second leg sees Milan in London, where Tottenham won their last three matches with clean sheets against Manchester City, West Ham and Chelsea.
