Tottenham have submitted an official offer to sign Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and according to Sky Sport Italia, the Italy international will sign his contract with Spurs soon.

Vicario is set to move to North London on a €20m deal.

The Premier League side had reached a verbal agreement with Empoli on Wednesday and have now submitted an official, written offer to Empoli, reports Sky Sport Italia transfer pundit Gianluca Di Marzio.

Vicario was Inter‘s main transfer target to replace André Onana, but Nerazzurri are set to miss out on his signature.

Vicario, 26, spent the last two seasons at Empoli, becoming one of Italy’s most sought-after keepers and earning a call-up to the Azzurri senior squad this month.

Empoli signed him on an initial loan deal from Cagliari in 2021, completing his permanent transfer for €10m at the end of the season.

He contributed to Empoli’s Serie A survival in 2021-22 by saving five penalty kicks from the 10 he faced.
