Milan’s in-house television channel is claiming that Chelsea have given Fernando Torres permission to undergo a medical with the Rossoneri.

Earlier today respected Sky journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that the Premier League club had refused to pay the striker’s severance fee that would release him to join the San Siro outfit.

However, this afternoon Milan Channel have revealed that Jose Mourinho’s men have given the 30-year-old the all-clear to travel to Italy and visit the club’s medical specialists.

Pippo Inzaghi’s men are thought to have offered Torres a two-year deal with the option of a third, but at a reduced wage to what he currently earns at Stamford Bridge.

It is suggested that the Spain international will fly into Milan tomorrow morning and go straight to Milanello, however, there has been no official word from any of the parties involved.

Torres is Milan's first option to replace Mario Balotelli, but if the deal falls through, will opt instead for Adel Taarabt, according to Sky Sport Italia.
