Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho says Fernando Torres won’t return in January, and thinks Milan are happy to keep him.

The Spanish striker is on a two-year loan from the Stamford Bridge side, but has only managed one goal since joining the Rossoneri.

The 30-year-old’s poor form has led to speculation that Milan will cancel the loan in January, with Napoli being mooted as a possible option.

The 30-year-old’s poor form has led to speculation that Milan will cancel the loan in January, with Napoli being mooted as a possible option.

Speaking in a Press conference ahead of Chelsea’s game with Hull City, Mourinho admitted he didn’t know if the rumours were true, but ruled out Torres returning to west London.

“That's an impossible picture,” the Portuguese said of Torres’ return.

“He's on loan for two seasons at AC Milan. We have no space.

“We have no space for players in our list either in the Champions League or in the Premier League.

"But I have to say that nobody from AC Milan made contact with us thinking about that possibility.

“Probably nothing is true. And more than possible he is happy at Milan."
