“We will be alert on the transfer market and try to do something that can help us improve,” confessed Torino director of sport Gianluca Petrachi in Tuttosport.
“El Shaarawy? First of all the financial burden is above the average of players in our squad, but if a sacrifice can be made that is worth it, then of course we will consider it.
“He is a top level player in a great team, so we have to be cautious about this. However, if Milan had the idea of loaning him out so he could play more regularly and rediscover his form, then we’d be interested in collaborating with them. It all depends on Milan.”
El Shaarawy could well join Torino on loan in exchange for Danilo D’Ambrosio, who is frozen out after refusing to sign a contract extension.
