In an interview with Tuttosport the Torino patron admitted that the Turin side are seeking a striker, but distanced himself from the names mentioned.

“We’ll do something in the transfer market, but I can’t tell you the names or how much we’ll spend,” Cairo explained.

“Of course we have to work to strengthen, but this is the time to keep your cards close to your chest.

“We need five strikers in the squad. We have [Josef] Martinez, [Fabio] Quagliarella and Amauri, then we’ll have to make some moves.

“Giovinco is out of contract, I don’t think he wants to renew but doing a deal with Juventus would be difficult and we don’t want to start a soap opera.

“As for Cassano and Pazzini, they’re good players but they don’t fit our needs.”
