Torino will qualify for the Conference League if Fiorentina beat Olympiacos in a Final in Athens next week.

Fiorentina’s Conference League Final will be closely watched by Torino and not just because the Granata and the Tuscans’ fans are twinned.

Torino have finished ninth in Serie A following a 3-0 loss to Atalanta on Sunday which means that, on paper, they have not qualified for any European competition.

However, if Fiorentina win the Conference League Final next week, the Tuscans will automatically qualify for the Europa League giving Serie A an extra European spot.

Torino hope Fiorentina win Conference League to get extra European spot

In this case, Torino would qualify for the 2024-25 Conference League, seeing nine Serie A clubs playing in European competitions next season, five in the Champions League, three in the Europa League and one in the Conference League.

Atalanta‘s win over Torino today also means Roma, having finished sixth, can no longer qualify for the Champions League.

“Let’s hope Fiorentina win [the Conference League] so Torino will go to Europe,” said Torino coach Juric after today’s loss to Atalanta.

The Croatian tactician won’t be in charge of the Granata next season having decided to leave the club at the end of his contract in June.
