Torino have decided not to move forward for Ruslan Malinovskyi, having doubts about the Olympic Marseille midfielder.

The 30-year-old Ukrainian left Serie A for Ligue 1 in the January transfer window, joining Marseille on a six-month loan deal with a €10m buy option attached.

He showed a few positive signs in his first half-season in France, scoring two goals and providing one assist in 23 total appearances. Despite this, a move away could already be on the horizon.

As reported by Sky Sports Italia via TMW, Torino have given up on Malinovskyi after initially competing with Besiktas for his signature, having too many doubts about the Marseille midfielder.

As such, the Granata will switch focus to other targets, keen to strengthen Ivan Juric’s squad ahead of the new season.

Malinovskyi is still likely to leave Marseille this summer and was not called up for their Champions League preliminary round first leg against Panathinaikos, which the Ligue 1 side lost 1-0.
