Torino are now working on closing out a deal for Perr Schuurs after reportedly reaching an agreement with Ajax.

The Granata have been desperately looking to strengthen Ivan Juric’s squad this month after selling Gleison Bremer to Juventus for €40m plus add-ons. A new defender is clearly needed and Torino quickly identified Schuurs as an exciting option.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Torino have agreed to pay Ajax €9.5m plus €3.5m in add-ons for Schuurs, with a 15% future resale clause also attached to the deal. The final details are now being resolved before everything is formalised.

The 22-year-old Dutch defender is expected to arrive in Turin either today or tomorrow morning, when he’ll undergo the usual pre-transfer medicals before putting pen to paper on his contract.

Schuurs was a first team regular for Ajax last season, making 30 appearances across all competitions as he proved himself to be a promising centre back.
