Torino have almost agreed a deal worth €4m for Djurgarden defender Isak Hien, claim reports, and he’s flying out for his medical soon.

The 23-year-old is a curious figure, because while his primary role is as a centre-back, he has been known to play as a centre-forward when necessary.

That’s largely because of his height, standing at 1.91m, nearly 6ft 3in, and he already found the net once this season in the Conference League qualifier against HNK Rijeka.

According to Aftonbladet and Sky Sport Italia, a deal is close to completion for €4m.

“We can confirm that we are in talks, but as far as we know, there is no agreement yet,” Djurgarden sporting director Bosse Andersson told Aftonbladet.

A medical cannot be done yet, because Hien is in the Djurgarden squad to face Sepsi in tomorrow’s Europa Conference League qualifier.

The Swedes won the first leg 3-1 away from home.

  1. Dont buying him! Dont get me wrong, he has been Great, but as Djurgården fan i wont ve glad hes leaving

  2. I understand Lazio fan’s reluctance to let Isaak Hien leave the mighty Djurgården – that goes for me, as well! The guy is our best central defender since Daniel Amartey, and strolls through many games because of his positional intelligence and physical presence. He brings the ball out well from the back and is a real aerial and ground-based threat at corners and set-pieces. Indeed, he played very well for us last night as we saw off Sepsi 3-1 in the second leg and overall is a big part of the reason for our good progress this season. But on the other hand, I’d be delighted for him to take his next step at a great and historic club, Torino, in an excellent league, Serie A. And the €4 million figure will surely come in handy for DIF. Very much mixed emotions!
