With Serie A finally returning after a two-week international break, what are the five most noteworthy changes since the last round of games?

It would be remiss to start with anything other than Dusan Vlahovic’s €80m move from Fiorentina to Juventus; the 22-year-old Serbian striker has netted 17 goals in 21 Serie A appearances so far this season and the Bianconeri hope he’ll be the man to solve the team’s attacking woes under Massimiliano Allegri this campaign.

Taking Vlahovic out of Vincenzo Italiano’s Fiorentina squad meant that reinforcements were needed, and the Viola secured 23-year-old Brazilian striker Arthur Cabral from FC Basel just before the transfer window closed. The player netted 14 goals in 18 Swiss league games this season and he’s expected to make a big impact in Florence.

Inter picking up Robin Gosens from Atalanta was another notable transfer; the German has shined in recent years under Gian Piero Gasperini in Bergamo and he’s an important option on the left for coach Simone Inzaghi, who will surely get the best out of the player with his 3-5-2 system.

Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski will not be seen in Serie A again this season; the Juventus pair joined Antonio Conte’s Tottenham on transfer deadline day, which freed up space for the Bianconeri to sign Denis Zakaria from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The final noteworthy change since the last round of Serie A matches was Stefano Sensi’s loan move to Sampdoria. The Italian midfielder has hardly featured under Simone Inzaghi this season and he’ll be hoping for regular playing time as he looks to relaunch his career.
