Luca Toni is reportedly set to continue his playing career in La Liga by signing for Getafe.

According to suggestions in the Spanish media, Getafe are ready to sell Dani Guiza to Malaga and bring in the Italian veteran as a replacement.

Toni is available on a free transfer and, according to AS, is on the verge of an agreement with the Azulones.

However, it is also reported that Getafe hierarchy are biding their time before completing the deal, as they are slightly reluctant to sign the 35-year-old.

They fear the fans will not take kindly to Toni’s arrival, as he scored Bayern Munich’s late extra-time goals in the 2008 UEFA Cup that defeated Getafe.

He is currently a free agent after terminating his contract with Al-Nasr with three goals in just seven appearances.

Toni has also played for the likes of Palermo, Fiorentina, Bayern Munich, Roma, Genoa and Juventus.
