Luca Toni has asserted that he intends to make life difficult for his new Coach at Verona, with his intention to play as much as possible.

The 36-year-old has joined the newly-promoted outfit on a one-year deal rumoured to paying out €400,000 for the season, plus performance related bonuses.

However, the former Palermo, Juventus and Fiorentina man has asserted that his motivation is still based on playing.

“I’m here to play, otherwise I would have retired. I want to make it difficult for Andrea Mandorlini,” quipped Toni to reporters today.

“I hope to provide my contribution in terms of goals and also from the point of view of experience.

“I have so much motivation here and Verona gave it to me straight away, so I chose to come here.

“It was a sensation I felt in my skin, I was won over by the directors and by Mandorlini, who called me.

“Verona is a team for Serie A, as we have seen in recent years, and with fans who have never given up.”
