Atalanta and Italy defender Rafael Toloi will miss the game against Milan with a muscle injury, meaning he won’t be available to face Spain in the Nations League, so Roberto Mancini will replace him with Davide Calabria.

Toloi was part of the Atalanta squad list named by Gasperini this morning.

However, he suffered a muscle injury shortly before the kick-off, meaning he will miss both La Dea’s home clash with Milan and Italy’s Nations League semifinals against Spain.

According to reports in Italy, Toloi has suffered an injury at the femoral biceps of his right leg.

Sky Sport Italia reports Milan defender Davide Calabria could replace him in the Azzurri squad.

Italy face Spain at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Wednesday.

Toloi, a Brazil-born defender with an Italian passport, made his senior Azzurri debut in March 2021 and was part of the squad that won the Euros in the summer.

Calabria, 24, was given his senior Azzurri debut in November 2020 and has three appearances with Italy.

UPDATE: According to Tuttomercatoweb, the FIGC has already sent a request to UEFA to include Calabria in the team, so the Milan defender will replace Toloi during the upcoming international break.
