Tokyo Verdy’s President claims the Japanese second-tier club are in talks to sign Roma icon Francesco Totti.
Totti has yet to make a decision on his future after ending his three-decade long association with Roma as a player, but Hideyuki Hanyi suggested the 40-year-old would either stay at the Olimpico in an off-field capacity or turn out for Verdy.
“We’re negotiating with Totti’s agent, who told me that he had two options: either he stays at Roma or comes to play for us,” he was quoted as saying by ForzaRoma.info.

“He won’t go to the US, where Miami [FC] and Los Angeles [Galaxy] both wanted him.
“He needs to think about it, but if he comes to us, he may start playing right away as we have a match against Kamatamare Sanuki on July 22.”
