Fiorentina boss Stefano Pioli claims that while last season was “difficult”, “I know the club won’t let us down”.

Having already discussed Fiorentina’s activity in the transfer market and the future of Milan target Nikola Kalinic at a Press conference, Pioli went on to discuss Matias Vecino – who has been linked with Tottenham Hotspur – and what the future held for the Viola.

“Vecino? I talked to him, like I did with the others, because I want to know their qualities and get into their heads,” continued the Coach.

“I consider him to be a very good player. When I was at Lazio, I asked the club to buy him.

“He has everything needed to become a great player, but I don’t deal with the market, I only train the players that the club make available to me. But for me, he’s a key part of the team.

“Club up for sale? It didn’t concern me because the club insisted on appointing me and I bought into this adventure with pleasure.

“I wanted it because Florence meant so much as a player, and I hope for the same as a Coach. I believe it will.

“Last season was difficult, but we need to exploit everything we have here in order to create a better atmosphere. I know the club won’t let us down.”
