Speaking to DAZN before kick-off at the Stadio Olimpico, Tiago Pinto was asked about Zaniolo’s contract extension talks.

“I learned a lot over these first 14 months at Roma and I like to clear things up with you, but if you keep asking me the same question, I have to keep giving the same answer,” said the Portuguese chief.

“We will discuss the renewals at the right time, now we have to focus on the results on the field.”

Tiago Pinto was not much more forthcoming when asked about reports Roma have a deal for goalkeeper Svilar, whose contract with Benfica will expire on July 1.

“He is a Benfica player and there’s a long way before the transfer window opens up. It’s true that we know him well, as I worked with him for almost four years, while Jose Mourinho witnessed the player’s Champions League debut against his team.

“But we want to concentrate on the pitch and not the transfers right now.”

The goalkeeper is already a senior Serbia international with one cap under his belt.
