Milan are thought to be in the market for new overseas investors, and Cagliari were rumoured to be on the verge of a buy-out from a US-based consortium.

And the Nerazzurri chief has insisted that Serie A is in good health as a result.

“We have a loan from an international financial institution, and that is proof of the prospect of Italian football,” he told Gatra.

“It shows that there is confidence in Inter but also that the outlook of Italian football is bright.

“You just have to look at some of the foreign investors that have come into the Italian game in recent years to see that.”
