Erick Thohir says that his presence in Italy is not a necessity to carrying out his work as Inter President.

The Indonesian has come under scrutiny for his absence from the peninsula for long periods of time, since taking over the club last November.

Whilst the likes of Massimo Moratti have called for a greater, more consistent presence at the club, the

New majority shareholder at San Siro doesn’t agree.

“I am the President, but it is important to have a strong management team, to carry forward the strategy that we have,” Thohir has considered to the Corriere dello Sport today.

“It is not necessary that every weekend I am at Pinetina.

“My presence at games? I saw the match against Fiorentina from Jakarta, staying up until dawn, and we won, and every time I come to Milan we drop points…

“I think what matters is the work. It is about what we are all focusing together on for the good of Inter.”
