Theo Hernandez admits it is ‘only natural when Milan struggle that we are jeered,’ but they won the fans back on side by beating PSG in the Champions League.

They were really feeling the pressure after a dismal run of results, including back-to-back Serie A home defeats to Juventus and Udinese, while they had failed to find the net in three European fixtures.

That changed tonight thanks to a Rafael Leao bicycle kick and Olivier Giroud header, turning around the opening Milan Skriniar tap-in at the back post.

“It was an incredible night. A very difficult match and we know PSG are a great team, but we worked hard and this is why we got the victory,” Theo Hernandez told Mediaset.

“We had some difficult moments, it is only natural when Milan struggle that we are jeered. Now we need to keep this going for the next match.”

The game was a hugely entertaining battle with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Mike Maignan both having to make tough saves.

Rafael Leao was named Man of the Match by UEFA, whereas Kylian Mbappé was kept relatively quiet.

“Rafa is an excellent player just like Mbappé and we knew that PSG would attack a lot. Now we have to keep working well, we are not interested in what people say. We remain united.”
