FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio reveals there are “four or five names” being considered for Italy CT.

Torino Coach Giampiero Ventura is considered the favourite for the role of Antonio Conte’s successor, as the Granata are in talks with Sinisa Mihajlovic.

For the first time the Azzurri will have a Technical Director to oversee all levels of the national team, with World Cup-winner Marcello Lippi expected to be handed that task.

“Haste is a bad counsellor,” Tavecchio warned after Conte’s Press conference at Coverciano today.

“It’s not an easy situation we’re considering, we’re changing a certain way of working with the national teams. There will be a co-ordinator of all the teams and then a Coach who will make his choices.

“I haven’t changed my mind about the Coach of the national team, we’re carefully evaluating the pros and cons.

“The chosen person will have experience and a high level of competence. We’ll create a technical team to prepare us for the World Cup.

“We have four or five names for after Conte.”
