FIGC President Carlo Tavecchio insists that Italy CT Antonio Conte will remain until ‘at least’ 2016.

The Azzurri Coach is said to be furious over the proposed Serie A calendar for next year, which would see him given just 19 days to work with his squad ahead of Euro 2016.

The move follows on from reports that the former Juventus Coach could quit his role on the national team bench, but Tavecchio has dismissed such suggestions, and defended the Coach's plan for extra training camps.

“Conte will certainly remain until at least the end of the two year period,” the President told reporters.

“I have reason to believe that next season will end on May 15, it’s a very credible hypothesis.

“Another issue is the meet-ups. I think we’ll do them anyway, even if we’re missing the players who are involved in European competition.

“We’re reasonable people, we understand that if the training camps were near a fixture we’d be wrong to take the players, but if it was two weeks away then we’d be in the right and we’d act differently.

“I remind the clubs that their players being called up increases their value, and not marginally.”
