This season has seen a patchy start, with the Aquile sitting fourth but having lost the Derby della Capitale to Roma and to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.

“He’s more and more mature as a Coach,” Tare told La Repubblica when asked about Inzaghi.

“He knows that in negative moments he can trust his staff, the squad and the club. I’ve heard talk of his sacking and and bad relations with the group: inventions.

“As for the fans, I really appreciated the encouragement they gave the team before the Fiorentina match.

“The boost the Olimpico can give us is fundamental, the ideal would be to go from 30,000 to 40,000 average attendances.

“The sense of belonging that exists in Germany excites me: Hamburg in Bundesliga two get 55,000 fans, Kaiserslautern in the third division get 45,000…”

Part of the reason for Lazio’s inconsistent form could be the patchy performances of star men Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto.

“For Milinkovic it’s primarily a matter of physical condition. He arrived late because of the World Cup and so he’s lacking that base of athletic training. That’s crucial for a ‘heavy’ player like him.

“He also might have been affected by that ‘stay or go?’ saga in the summer. In the end he stayed and now he just needs to hit form.

“For Luis Alberto it’s a mental issue. He needs to feel untouchable, but at an ambitious club like Lazio it’s not possible to get it wrong in several games in a row and still be a starter.

“He needs to win his place back, like a man, and get back to making the difference. He’s a player worthy of Real Madrid, he’s already shown his quality, he just needs to improve his physical condition and work on his self-confidence.

“The model is Juventus. Those who play give everything, even if they were on the bench in the previous game. Always.

“For us the priority remains the league, with the Champions League as an objective. It’ll be difficult, because Serie A is more balanced this season.

“There are only four points between fourth and 12th. Lazio are missing one, against Napoli a draw would have been a fairer result.”
