Lazio director Igli Tare confirmed Stefan de Vrij is ready to sign a new contract, but the release clause “would be valid within and outside Italy.”

The defender’s current deal is due to expire in June and he has been heavily linked with the likes of Inter, Juventus, Napoli, Manchester United, Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

There are reports the new agreement will include a €25m release clause, but Tare made a crucial distinction.
