Igli Tare confirms Lazio are in negotiations with coach Maurizio Sarri to extend his contract. ‘It’s a shared decision and a strong signal that we have started a project.’

There were reports this week that despite only signing a contract until June 2023 this summer, Sarri was already in talks to extend to 2025.
“Yes, it is a shared decision, prompted also by Sarri’s request,” Tare told Sky Sport Italia.
“He sees the opportunity to work well at Formello. This is a strong signal that we have started a project here.
“It is just the first phase and we need patience, but want to send a signal for the future.”
The results and performances have so far been deeply inconsistent, so what stage are Lazio at right now?
“The priority at this moment is to have the team organised on the pitch. We did well with Atalanta and Fiorentina, we’ve got a grasp of the situation and now just need to find more belief and consistency.
“Sarri’s tactical system is a difficult one to apply, but once it becomes automatic in the minds of the players, we can do much better.”
I am.happy to see the progress Lazio made. I also think Cataldi is to be given more space and Lucas starts to be his backup.
Also Toma Basic shows to be very aggressive/determined, agile for his stature and signs of tehnique improving.he should try shooting from distance every now and then but in this regards getting a bit more game time is instrumental for him to get integrated into the team and …not the least Raul Moro the same, needs game time so get him on 10-15 minutes earlier.
Out of necesity or not Sarri has a little depth apparently. This team will go far and I think there is a trophy coming this year. If not EL, than the Coppa Italia. They have all the players needed if no CBs get injured and it doesn’t get much harder than Ol. Marseille in the EL.
I hope so Burky! I am seeing improvements under Sarri! Next season I will be excited give it time! Recruits in the summer hopefully that can add to the squad
