Roma have taken some important forward steps in their attempt to sign Panagiotis Tachtsidis from Genoa.

The 21-year-old has been specifically requested by new boss Zdenek Zeman who, while in charge of Pescara last season, was impressed with the player’s form at Verona.

The Giallorossi have begun talks with the Marassi outfit in an attempt to net the Greek youngster in a co-ownership deal.

Tachtsidis is a midfielder who was signed by Genoa in 2010 from AEK Athens. He’s also spent time on loan at Cesena and Grosseto.
