Roma goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny admits Saturday night’s defeat to Juventus has hurt his team.

The Giallorossi were beaten 1-0 at Juventus Stadium, meaning they fall seven points behind the League leaders.

“Seven points is a lot to recover,” Szczesny admitted following the match in Turin. “It’s difficult, Juventus are a great team and seven points is a big cushion.

“We need to go again and win against Chievo, taking it game by game. The League now is not in our hands.

“I have heard many people say that we played well. It wasn’t enough to take home the three points. It hurths to go home empty-handed.”

The Polish international added that despite the result, he does not see a big difference between Roma and Juve.

“Juventus? There aren’t big differences, they are a good team but so are we.

“They have a winning mentality and I say it with a heavy heart. They don’t play that well by they win.”
