Wojciech Szczesny insists he’s happy at Roma ‘but if Arsenal want me back I’ll return’.

The goalkeeper is on loan with the Giallorossi, but admitted this week that he’s keen to return to London, and was asked about his comments in the Press conference ahead of the Bayer Leverkusen game.

“My statements must be understood,” Sczesny told the assembled media.

“I’m an Arsenal player, I have a contract with Arsenal. If they want me back, I’ll return. I’m very happy here, I’ll give my all here, and what happens, happens.

“We’ll talk about it later this year.

“I’m fine, the city is beautiful and I’m very happy. I’m doing my best every day, I have to pay back the confidence of the Coach and the staff.”

The ‘keeper was then asked who Bayer’s dangermen will be, and identified Javier Hernandez.

“He played for Real Madrid, he’s a great player. I’ll try not to let him score two goals like in the first leg.”

Szczesny appeared to celebrate an Atalanta goal against Lazio last week, and it was put to him that the Biancocelesti players are using the image as motivation for the weekend’s Derby della Capitale.

“I don’t care,” the Polish international shrugged.

“All I care about is tomorrow’s game.”
