UEFA has warned players that will attend the Super League will be banned from playing in any other competition, but new developments are expected in the coming hours.

This morning, the New York time broke the news of an agreement between the wealthiest European clubs adding Juventus are "among the most notable ones involved in the breakaway group."

According to the report, Agnelli brushed off the idea of talks regarding creating a Super League as a "rumour" earlier this year.

The New York Times correspondent Tariq Panja brings to light a story from 2019.

"Agnelli sought to create a friendship with the UEFA president, who with this move, he has effectively knifed," he wrote on Twitter.

It emerged Agnelli arranged for Ceferin to take a spin in a Ferrari and offered the UEFA Chairman to be the godfather to his six-month-old daughter back in 2019.

The close relationship between Agnelli and Ceferin was not seen positively by several officials who raised the issues back in the days.

"Those rumours in football that are shared all the time are so illogical and so stupid," Ceferin commented.

Agnelli, who is also serving as the ECA Chairman, discussed the COVID pandemic's impact and the next steps for European football in a meeting held in March.

"I'd like to thank President Ceferin for the arguments and almost the fights we had from October to December,"he said.

"But they have been very productive arguments and fights."

Apparently, they haven't entirely understood each other.
