Giovanni Stroppa said ‘a positive result’ against Juventus ‘could be decisive’ for Crotone but admitted their squad makes him ‘shudder’ even without Cristiano Ronaldo.

Crotone have lost their first three games back in the top tier and prepare to host the reigning champions at the Stadio Ezio Scida this weekend.

“After having faced Milan without Ibra, we will now face Juventus without Cristiano Ronaldo,” he said at a press conference. “It’s better to watch them on TV rather than play against them.

“But as a sportsman I would have liked to see him. But if I look at Juve’s line-up, it makes me shudder.”

The Crotone tactician believes the Old Lady are the team to beat this season.

“Juve are the champions and they have many great players in their squad,” he added. “They are the team to beat, the strongest in every sense.

“We need to be attentive, as well as giving something more: we are developing, and we can do it.

“A positive result against Juve could be decisive for our progress, but the team are growing. We have to improve in the final minutes and work individually in both stages.

“I still feel annoyed by the result against Sassuolo.”
