The Dutch international snapped the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during a game against Napoli in March.

He underwent surgery that forced him to miss the World Cup and has until now focused on a personalised physiotherapy programme.

However, this afternoon Strootman took part in the training session along with the rest of his Roma teammates.

The midfielder is expected to make his comeback at the start of November, but could bring that date forward if he continues to progress this quickly.
