Udinese welcome the Giallorossi to Friuli tomorrow with the visitors looking to close the gap to Juventus at the top of the league, with the Old Lady taking on Inter in the evening.

“In terms of technical quality they’re the best in Italy,” Stramaccioni told journalists in his pre-match Press conference.

“I think the energy they were expending in the Champions League could have affected them a bit in the league, but now they’ve recharged their batteries. They’re here for three points and we have to try to stop them.

“Against Sampdoria we pressed very high, but we can’t do that in every game. Of course we can’t defend for 90 minutes against Roma either, otherwise we’ll concede goals.

“We have to be dangerous with the weapons we have, and fight for every ball. They have the derby [with Lazio] after this, but they need to get a result in Udine.”

The Zebrette are facing a mounting injury crisis, with youngsters such as Antonio Vutov included in the squad to play Roma, but the Coach believes his side can handle the absences.

“[The squad] is the result of an emergency situation where we have three players unavailable.

“But our youth system is good and we’ve included three players who have been training with the squad for some time.

“We will miss [Emmanuel] Badu, [Thomas] Heurtaux, [Giampiero] Pinzi and also [Luis] Muriel.

“However, we’re not in the habit of speaking about those who are absent, and I have full confidence in the players who will play tomorrow.

“I don’t think we’re in crisis, the players who play tomorrow will do fine.

“Tomorrow is a good test. If we play the way Udinese can then we can take points off them.”

Udinese squad to play Roma: Karnezis, Scuffet, Brkic, Belmonte, Bubnjic, Danilo, Domizzi, Pasquale, Allan, Fernandes, Guilherme, Kone, G. Silva, Hallberg, Piris, Widmer, Jaadi, Jankto, Di Natale, Geijo, Thereau, Vutov.
