Udinese Coach Andrea Stramaccioni hopes Roberto Mancini is given time, as he believes that: “Inter will be great again.”

The Nerazzurri lost 2-1 to Strama’s Zebrette on Sunday at San Siro having taken the lead in the first half, to worsen the team’s start under their returned Coach.

However, for Stramaccioni, who coached Inter between March 2012 and May 2013, Inter should have a positive outlook in spite of the defeat.

“I saw a Nerazzurri team that can count on players of outstanding quality,” he said in an interview with Italia1.

“Many of them I already know, having coached them, and I'm convinced that Mancini will need time to find the solutions that currently are not optimal.

“When a Coach arrives somewhere and finds resources set up for a different Coach, it's understandable that there should be a period of adaptation. I wish Inter to do well.

“As for our game, we suffered greatly against Inter and we tried improving those things that went wrong so we wouldn't end up the same way against Mancini's team. In the second half especially we did very well.”

Stramaccioni believes Milan are slightly more advanced in their process of reconstruction.

“I think Milan had more time to work, they are building their identity. The next few games will be very telling.

“Inter are used to winning, but Mancini had very little time to work.”

Stramaccioni was asked whether he would return to San Siro, but he denied the possibility.

“No, I signed a life-contract with Udinese. That goes for Roma too. I have only one life, and having signed a life-contract…

“I have plenty of trust for Inter's return, things are going to change.

“The objectives may not be met in a short time, but we are already seeing the first steps for the reconstruction. Inter will be great again, I have trust in that.”
