Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha says his side didn’t deserve to lose to Juventus but backs them to secure Champions League qualification.

It has been a damaging week for Simone Inzaghi’s team, with the Biancocelesti eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Milan before Paulo Dybala’s late winner last night sent them down to fourth in the Serie A table.

“When you play against Juventus you can always expect everything,” a disappointed Strakosha told reporters post-match.

“We have great expectations of ourselves. We are strong and we know we can always get great results.

“But the Bianconeri didn’t deserve to get all three points here. We were better on the pitch and offered a better performance.

“In the end, the 120 minutes against Milan during the week took their toll.”

Despite the recent setbacks, the shot-stopper believes Lazio have the ability to bounce back as they look to return to Europe’s premier club competition.

“I am not worried because we are a great group and we will prepare ourselves as well as we can looking ahead to the next games.

“We are disappointed but we need to move forward. We have to look at the next challenges in the same way as the big teams do, looking to do our best.

“If we do that, moving forward we will definitely achieve our target.”
