Marco Storari could be heading to Milan as a backup goalkeeper for Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports.

After joining Cagliari from Juventus in summer 2015, the almost 40-year-old has been criticised by fans this season. The Sardinians have conceded 42 goals in the league this term, and have by far the worst defensive record in Serie A.

This, and rows with both the Coach and club management has meant that an exit seems increasingly likely for the veteran stopper.

According to Calciomercato.it, the player has had positive initial talks with Milan over a move that would see Storari share vital experience with both Donnarumma and 16-year-old Alessandro Plizzari.

Such a move would be a return to the Rossoneri for the Pisa-native, as he played at San Siro between 2007 and 2010, despite spending most of his time there out on loan.
