These Spezia vs. Lecce predictions pit two lower placed teams in the Serie A table against each other on Sunday afternoon. Just a few points separate the two sides ahead of kick-off, with the bottom three looming for the losing team.

Spezia vs. Lecce odds

1 – A draw at full-time – 11/5

2 – Under 2.5 goals scored – 5/7

3 – Both teams to score – 10/11

4 – Lorenzo Colombo to score anytime – 11/4

5 – Mbala Nzola to score anytime – 5/2

Sunday’s clash between Spezia and Lecce has the potential to be a relegation six-pointer come the end of the season. Neither side is in the bottom three ahead of kick-off but, with the season not yet halfway gone, both look in danger of the drop.

The six-week World Cup break could not have come at a worse time for either side, as both were showing signs of playing their way into form in November. Spezia had gone two games without losing, equalling their best run this season, while Lecce went one better with a three-match unbeaten run.

Unfortunately, both teams will now have to rediscover their Serie A form anew. Given the enforced break, it would be no surprise to see both teams come into Sunday’s match slightly rusty, with neither wanting to risk losing such a pivotal game. As a result, a draw may be the result of this fixture, allowing both teams to start building a run.

If the goals do come, both teams have an obvious source, as a forward from each side stood out in matches before the World Cup. For the hosts, Mbala Nzola, is on track to break double figures, with seven goals already this season. While, for the visitors, Lorenzo Colombo found his feet in November with four goal contributions in two games.

It will be a good test to see if either player is able to carry their form forward after such an extensive break from play, however, both remain our tips to score on Sunday afternoon.
