Spezia turned down offers from five clubs, including Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, before accepting Arsenal’s offer for Jakub Kiwior.

The 22-year-old Polish centre back has already carried out his medicals with the Gunners and was seen at the Emirates Stadium yesterday, watching his new team secure a vital 3-2 win over Manchester United. Arsenal now sit five points clear of Manchester City with a game in hand, putting them in a strong spot to lift their first title in decades.

As reported by TMW, several clubs made concrete offers for Kiwior before Arsenal ultimately secured his signature, with the most serious coming from Borussia Dortmund, who proposed a €22m bid.

Other clubs that emerged for the Polish defender were Atletico Madrid, RB Leipzig, Brentford and Leicester City.

Arsenal won out the race with their offer, proposing a deal worth €25m plus €5m in add-ons, securing the talented defender, who is expected to pen his contract with the North London club today.
