However, Valeri Karpin, acting as Coach and general manager at the club, denied all knowledge of a potential deal, or indeed of Amelia himself.
“A deal for Amelia? Absolutely not, we are honestly not in negotiations and if I’m honest, I do not even know who he is.
“I categorically deny these reports, they are lies.”
